Half of our family and a couple of friends made our way down to Gage Park last Saturday, November 30th, for the arrival of the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train, along with thousands of other Hamiltonians. It was a perfect Canadian night - cold and crisp, but not unbearable, with music that was truly Canadian. The Brothers Dube, Great Big Sea, Cynthia Dale, Peter Mansbridge, Natalie MacMaster and Tom Cochrane all hit the stage, to the delight of the crowd. Natalie MacMaster wowed me by fiddling and dancing up a storm - despite a large belly incubating baby #6. Unfortunately our own little person wore out before Tom Cochrane hit the stage, but it was truly a delightful evening. Our friends, very new to Canada, were treated to an amazing taste of East Coast / Canadian culture. Congrats to CP, Hamilton Food Share and everyone else who made this an unforgettable evening!
