When I was a kid, not a season went by without my mom pulling out a few special items to tape to the wall or set on the table - Easter, Valentine's Day.... Now I do the same in my home, and I am always intrigued by simple (I mean, REALLY simple) ideas that create some interest and celebrate the season at the same time.

Here is a really pretty but simple idea from Better Homes and Gardens that I am going to try with my bright holly berries from my garden.

On a fall hike one year, I had the bright idea that I would bring home some acorns, walnuts, and such to fill a little square glass, topping it off with a tea light.  It was a cute idea - and had a festive fall look, until I woke up the next morning to find BUGS crawling all over my table!  So here is a link to some really simple yet prettty fall decor ideas, but please heed my word of warning - if using acorns or something of the sort, put them in a ziplock and deposit in the freezer for a day or two.  Trust me, you will be glad you did!
