In just a couple of days the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will roll into Gage Park in downtown Hamilton. This Hamilton Food Share fundraising event promises to be a great evening with performances by Tom Cochrane, Great Big Sea and Natalie MacMaster. There will be interactive stations for the kids and of course, a visit with Santa.
While this is a free event, you are asked to bring along a non-perishable food item or make a donation to Hamilton Food Share. Since the Holiday Train's inception in 1999, the train has raised more than $7.4 million and 3 million pounds of food as it travels through communities in Canada and the northern US with the purpose of stocking the shelves of the local food banks it visits.
So, bundle up, grab a few non-perishable food items and head out to Gage Park. Festivities begin at 4pm, concert at 5pm. For a map of the park and more information, check out this Newswire link.
