For those of us not headed to the cottage this May Long Weekend, here are a few events you can check out in and around the city of Hamilton.
-
Victoria Day Fireworks - May 18, dusk
- What family doesn't like packing up a blanket and heading out for some firework gazing? Bundle up and head to Dundas Driving Park at dusk on Sunday, May 18th (raindate: Monday, May 19th) at dusk for Hamilton's fireworks show. Donations gratefully accepted.
-
Waterdown Arts and Music Streetfest - May 18, 10am -11pm
- I am sure the organizers of this inaugural event are hoping for great weather to compliment their line up of Art Vendors, Food Trucks, Bands and Buskers! Admission is free and is being held on Dundas Street between Mill and Main streets.
-
Opening of Westbrook House - Westfield Heritage Village - May 18, 4pm
- If History is more to your liking, head out to Westfield Heritage Village over the long weekend and learn more about Queen Victoria and how she influences our present day culture. Visit anytime between 12:30 - 4pm on May 18 or 19. Or plan to attend the grand opening of Historic Westbrook House (c.1810) on the 18th at 4pm and enjoy some lemonade and sweets in celebration!
Most of all, be safe and be smart and enjoy your long weekend!
